2. First you need to fill out an application form, there will be 20-30 questions on it, mainly to understand your family situation to see if it is suitable for adoption. Some of the questions include your family’s Activity Level, whether there are children or other pets, whether there is a backyard, how big the yard is, whether there is Fence, whether there is previous experience in pet ownership, etc.
3. Some agencies require all members of your family to meet in their office (including bringing your current pets), while others will arrange for a family interview and a site visit to your home. Combining all the information they will decide if you are a good match for the pet you want to adopt. During the adoption interview, you will be asked a lot of detailed questions, such as your experience with pets, what kind of pets you have, the ages of your family members, your job income, the amount of time you have people in your home each day, what brand of floor cleaner you use, whether you live in an apartment or a detached house, whether you have a yard, whether you have a fence, how high the fence is, whether you use weed killer on your lawn, whether you will have your pet spayed or neutered and have health insurance after adoption, etc. after your application is approved
4. After your application is approved, most adoptions require a Trial Period, which may be a daily visit to the pet you want to adopt, or you may be allowed to take the pet home for a few days to try it out.
5.If all are approved, you will be able to take your new family member home with you.
